Clay Mates began with limited edition, collectable, stop-motion animations and our very first NFT dropped on April 17th, 2021 - “Charles Birdkinson”.
After a series of successful drops of Clay Mates Season 1 & 2, we began to explore the idea of moulding this initial concept into the increasingly popular algorithmically generated profile picture NFTs. This led us to create Clay Nation, the first hand-made generative NFTs on Cardano.
Following the release of Clay Nation - 10,000 unique clay NFTS - we had the incredible opportunity to team up with American punk-music legends, GOOD CHARLOTTE, creating our collaboration and drop that was an exclusive benefit to existing Clay Nation holders and also bringing the music industry’s eyes and interest to the world and possibilities of Cardano NFTs.

Cardano is our roots - we fell in love with the ethos, sustainability element and community of Cardano from early on. It has always felt like the natural home for a project such as ours, and we were active in the community - running a Stake Pool - prior to starting Clay Mates.
Cardano offers us, as creators, the opportunity to let our imaginations run free, to think outside the box, be innovative and interact with the community. It allows us not to just be a project on a blockchain, but a Cardano community project - and that is pretty special.

You will be able to access the Clayverse (“Clay Nation”) with your full body 3D Avatars.
The collections of Clay Nation characters and Pitches are sold out, however they can be purchased on the secondary market, Clayspace.

We are excited to announce the launch of Clay Space (C Space LTD) — the new one-stop-shop for the Clay ecosystem.
As the community continues to grow, we wanted to provide an easy to use platform to buy, sell, and trade Clay Nation assets under one roof. Clay Space aims to make it easier than ever to manage your collection, with the ability to buy and list your NFTs for sale exclusively with $CLAY token.
But Clay Space isn’t just a marketplace. Over the coming months, we will be adding new features to make it the dedicated one-stop-shop for all things Clay Nation.

$CLAY token is the main utility and governance token of Clay Nation.

﹀ How do I find the coordinates for my pitch?
The Clayverse map is available to view on our official website, with additional functions to make searching for pitches easier:
Holders can connect their wallet to view the location of their pitches.
Locate pitches by searching a serial number or coordinates (x,y).
View pitches for sale on Clay Space and filter by price.
﹀ What is the difference between S, M and L pitches? Is it possible to split or join plots?
Pitches are available in 3 relative sizes - small (1x1), medium (2x2) and large (3x3) - randomly distributed at point of sale.
The sizes of each pitch in metres is approximately: small = 10 x 10; medium = 20 x 20; large = 30 x 30. Two or more adjacent pitches can be merged together, but a single pitch cannot be split.
﹀ Can I join the fun if I don't own a Clay Avatar? (Default Avatars)
We will release more details of default avatars and access to non-clay holders /guest passes as confirmed.
﹀ What is baking and how can I bake my clay?
Our non-custodial baking system lets you claim $CLAY rewards. Every day, your Clay Nation and Clay Nation x Good Charlotte assets accumulate 'unbaked' $CLAY rewards.
To receive these tokens, you'll need to actively start a 2-week $CLAY "baking" process on our website.
﹀ What does owning a pitch enable me to do?
Pitch holders can help us to shape concepts, and we will be encouraging contributions to the development of Clay Nation through active building on Pitches. We will release more info soon on default asset packs to get you started.
﹀ What are the big empty squares around the map? And can you tell us more about the areas such as the “Hub” or the locked areas?
Areas have been set aside for ongoing and future development / partnerships, of which details will be given as they are confirmed.
The hub will act as an epicentre of entertainment and fun activities, and buildings may include such things as galleries, stores, clubs, convention centres, bowling arcades, laser tag etc..

What will $CLAY be used for and when available?”
$CLAY will be the main utility token of Clay Nation and will be allocated to Clay holders.
Initially, $CLAY token holders will be able to participate in governance of Clay Nation whereby holders can exercise voting rights in key decisions of the Clay ecosystem.
Expected delivery of $CLAY token is late June, 2022.
How will $clay be allocated?

Do I own the IP of my Clay Nation and Clay Nation x Good Charlotte?
Full ownership and commercial usage rights of all 1 of 1 Clay Nation characters are granted to the respective NFT owners.
The same applies to Clay Nation x Good Charlotte 1 of 1 pieces - with the exception of pieces with Good Charlotte logos. We do not grant permission to reproduce our logos for any reason without explicit permission.
How do I find the coordinates for my pitch?
You can view the coordinates of pitches in your verified wallets here. The map displays owner address, and listing data if the pitch is listed on JPG.store.
What is the difference between S, M and L pitches? Is it possible to split or join plots?
Plot sizes are: small 1 x 1, medium 2 x 2 and large 3 x 3.
Plots cannot be split, but you are able to join adjacent plots together.
How will the three zones be different for one another? Will I be able to travel between zones?
Each zone has its own unique theme and it will be possible to travel between them.
Sonic village refers to sound, not the hedgehog, and accordingly is home to the main stage with strong music vibes.
Development of the Underworld is something we will work together with GC on.
The hot, smokey terrain of Baked Nation will be home to the Field of Dreams and a hub developed in partnership with Snoop Dogg, Champ Medici and their team.

Will it be possible to add a JPEG placeholder on a pitch?
Yes, this is possible, and you will be able to add your own pictures to your plots shortly. Details TBC.
